Now that Halloween is over, it's time to start looking towards Christmas (begrudgingly - can't the year and time, just SLOW down?!). The holiday spirit is already EVERYWHERE. Adam and I went to the mall this weekend, and you'd think it was December. Slow down holiday marketing! What about the BEST holiday of the year: Thanksgiving? Why can't there be turkeys and delicious fall foods (beyond PSL) showing up everywhere?
But I digress, recently, I teamed up with Goodwill Industries of Akron to host DIY workshops! And guess what? My first workshop will be this upcoming Saturday, November 8th at 2PM at the Waterloo Road Location of the Goodwill. And you guessed it (I hope), we'll be creating Ugly Holiday Sweaters!
The Goodwill has always been a great source for DIY project materials, whether it's creating the perfect pair of cut-offs, deconstructing a hoodie into a vest, or fusing a trench coat and a leather jacket, there is always inspiration to be had and items to be bought to DIY with at the Goodwill.
As with any good DIY project, the first place to source inspiration is...PINTEREST! Below I've pulled some images that are inspiring me for this project. Ugly Holiday Sweaters don't necessarily have to be ugly, just festive. Although, creating something truly hideous is kind of the whole point (and the most fun!). - Click-through the photos to the original source material.
