It's Always Sunny - Day 2
| Hat: Gabriel Brothers, Sheer Top: Kirra (c/o PacSun), Floral top: Charlotte Russe, Blazer: H&M, Aztec Shorts: PacSun, Boots: Target, Jewelry: Assorted |
After a rainy first day in Panama City Beach, the weather decided to shape up and be more Florida-y, but still cold. Either way, it was Record Store Day! So we piled in the car and headed to Central Square Records in Seaside. Central Square Records was awesome, the perfect venue for such a great day of the year. Seaside, though? It's one of those towns that was built for the sake of being built (I think). It's beautiful, everything is brand new, but there is something off. Kind of like Stepford? Anyway, please forgive my super pale legs. Still kind of bummed I didn't get much of a tan in Florida.
Oh and the king of vinyl himself!

We're both pretty pale.

Walk of Fame

Some quick photos I snapped my last day in Nashville. Happened upon the Music City Walk of Fame on the way back to my rental car. I REALLY wanted some cheesy souvenirs before I left town, and had spotted this shop downtown after the Opry Country Classics on Thursday. I thought I could easily park in the library parking garage, pop on down to Broadway, grab a Tshirt and some things, and head to the airport. Turns out, it was Nasvhille Comic Con or something and ALL the parking was exorbitantly priced as well as full. So I bit the bullet and parked in some lot. I still got to wander around downtown, but it wasn't as relaxed as I had hoped. Oh well, I managed to find a Willie Nelson Tee for Adam and some oversized postcards for the house. As well as a Nashville harmonica. Alls well that ends well. Plus, I'm sure we'll be back. Also, the first photo I took while testing this location out won't upload without being sideways. I'm pissed since it's my fav. Oh well check out the one below taken from a step up in the ampitheater. OH the joys of the self timer.
Peace.

New York City outfitz. What up? They are basically the same as ANYWHERE else outfits! Except my shoes aren't as nice since we walked a lot, and it blizzarded, and rained, and there was dog poo on the sidewalk (not that I stepped in any - this is still America!). I settled on a halfway between super-hipster and classic. We didn't go anywhere near the tents at Lincoln Center because I was afraid I wasn't dressed up enough. So we went to the to American Natural History Museum instead, and it was awesome. Then we wandered up to Morningside Heights to meet up with one of the girls I taught with in Angers (Cait-leeen - eet waz soo gud to seee you!). The next day it blizzarded. And by blizzarded, I mean snowed. And by snowed, I mean nothing more crazy than the normal, everyday stuff we get here in Ohio. But enough snow that the wimps in NYC, closed everything down. So Saturday, we couldn't go to the Brooklyn Flea, so we just went to the airport and drank $10 Sam Adamses. Wild NYC Nights. Must be what they always talk about. Cheers.

Legitimate Post From My Front Porch.
Drinkin' a Budweiser, sittin' on tha front porch, listenin' to The National, updatin' tha blog: how it should be. Spring has "sprung", and I couldn't be happier. Tonight is quite warm, and Eleanor and I are chillin' outside, barking at passerby (well, Eleanor is). Remember when I said life would get back to "normal" when I got back from my trip, well I guess I should have known better. Apparently, "normal" doesn't exist in the world of Abby Rode. I got back from New Orleans LAST Tuesday night, and have YET to update this here blog. So tonight's post will be dedicated to my mini-Angers Reunion - NOLA trip 2012:
Back in November or December (I can't remember now), I agreed to meet two of my (best) friends from Angers in New Orleans: Andrea (Munich) and Emily (St. Paul) - Caitleeen (NYC) was supposed to join, but she is insanely busy as a Ph.D. student at Columbia. I'd never been to New Orleans, and everyone goes on and on about how wonderful it is there, and it is, but it is also VERY touristy. I would have been perfectly happy meeting up with them ANYWHERE, but I'm a sap like that. So we decided to go to New Orleans, and go we did.
Vampire Tours.
Creole Plantations.
My Take-aways:
Café au Lait and Beignet, Po Boys and Shrimp Burgers, Street Music, the World War 2 Museum, and
Mississippi River Drinking with some girls I don't ever get to see (how freakin' cheesy).
I didn't get many outfit shots, because I was too busy photographing everything else, but I was able to snap some of Emily doing "the Abby Pose". I have no rights over this pose (I KNOW I've seen it on other blogs), but it's really the easiest way to get full outfit shots without feeling like a fatty. However, I guess the "Abby posing" has been getting out of hand, because this is what happened when I went to take a photo of this really cool tree in the Garden District. Commence the BRAND NEW "reader submission" portion of my blog:
Emily as Abby in the Garden District.
Emily as Abby in a vintage store on Magazine Street.
Emily with her new hoodie as Abby in another shop on Magazine Street.
So dear readers, if you have any "fashion" shots you'd like to submit to Bottes D'Eleanor to be included in an upcoming "Reader Spotlight", please submit to: abbyerode@gmail.com! Your participation is greatly appreciated.
And now Abby as Abby:
Abby as Abby in the Garden District (Andrea: "You know you can smile in photos!")
