Black and White and Red All Over

I have to say, I was already obsessed with the combo of this button-down and skirt, but then I added this blazer I thrifted during Dina's "Thrift Day Out" in September, and it really took the combo to another level.

I was hesitant to buy this blazer, because it's about several sizes too big, but it was too good to leave behind. The velvet collar and plaid print are perfect. I wore it again recently with a button-down that has a similar red, plaid print, and it was just glorious. A little warm, but glorious. I think layering this blazer over a chunky sweater is the next step.

Also, check our new play house! I mentioned it in my last blog post. Isn't it cute? I haven't been inside yet, because I have an insane fear of ticks, but next spring, the pachysandra is coming out, and I'll be sure to check it out!

Orange You Glad P5

Another day, another long break between blog posts. We recently got internet at the new house, and I have to say, idk how I feel about it. I thought I'd be all about having internet again, but it is amazing how productive I was without it. Of course, it's so nice to be able to stream podcasts while doing the dishes, zone out watching insta-stories, or even blog! Plus, being able to work from home with a sick baby (toddler?), has been pretty great too.

Blazer: H&M, Button-Down: Thrifted, Skirt: JCrew, Slides: Zara, Sunglasses: ReDress

Re: this outift, it's been a minute since we took these photos, as I think it was the first work day after moving into our new house (and we've been here about a month now). I think I've mentioned this before, but the lighting at the new house is pretty amazing, and that includes our cute backyard. Just out of frame is a sweet little playhouse that I can't wait to fix up for #babydangerdrennen. I'll share more soon.

Mixed Media P4

Hello, friends! We moved, hence the radio silence over here. Working to get back into the blogging groove, but it's been a few years since a big move, so I'm a little out of practice.

In any case, I thought I had a series going on this here blog titled "Mixed Media", but apparently not. The only other post I can find is this one. So if anyone wants to solve that mystery, that'd be great. Thanks.

Jacket: Hand-Me-Down, Button-Down: Banana Republic, Skirt: Swapped, Sandals: Zara

Double polka dots strikes again! I wore this skirt today, and debated wearing these shoes with it again, but decided on something a little more toned down. Check it out on InstaStories.

Fall Football 2018

In case you missed my many Instagram stories this week, I was away in Grand Rapids for work. I had every intention of blogging, but then I got really into their ArtPrize, so spent every night I was there wandering around downtown looking for and at art. Two of the three nights, I was able to catch some films as part of the event: "Kusama: Infinity" and "Love, Gilda", plus two short films created by local filmmakers. Pretty good time.

But as much as I enjoyed my time alone away, I'm so glad to be home. Not only did I get to snuggle Harvey and read him a bedtime story this evening, but now I get to enjoy "Scott Pilgrim VS the World" with Adam. Then tomorrow, it's game day (well, a game day)!

I love how my game day style has evolved since college and been incorporated into my everyday wear. Special, but not that special.

Blazer: WildFang x Lucca, Tshirt: Gifted, Trousers: JCrew, Flats: Zara, Belt: Urban Outfitters,
Necklaces: DIY and Gifted

Wonder what I'll be wearing on game day in another decade?

Hot Tamale

Ever since Karen posted her Fall Styling tips video (I can't remember which fall video exactly, they are all good), I've been wanting to try her tip of a monochrome #ootd. While this #ootd isn't exactly monochrome (hot pink and orange aren't exactly the same color), it's close and turned out just the way I wanted.

Sweater: Zara, Palm Tree Button-Down: Thrifted (Goodwill Akron), Pencil Skirt: JCrew Factory,
Socks: Old Navy, Boots: SheIn, Sunglasses: ReDress

I also recently placed my first order with SheIn - have you heard of it? Abby shared some shoes she had scored from them, so I thought I'd check it out. These boots were one of the pieces I kept. I sent half of my order back because of sizing issues - nothing crazy, just usual online ordering risk - definitely invest the small fee for returns if you do shop online with them.

Good or bad, I love that SheIn offers knock-off versions of all of the super trendy designer pieces I couldn't afford when they were popular (and still can't afford). These boots are obviously based off of this Balenciaga pair that have been popular for several years. Next up on my list is a version of these Stella McCartney creepers.
