Week-End Round-Up P8 - Things to Make This Week

Another week with two projects down (plus some others I didn't share). I promised I'd share how spray painting boots went, and you guys, it was a success! I took an old pair of suede boots from Target, covered the hardware with newspaper, and spray painted the rest. I shared about it on Instagram Stories and Snapchat (both @bottesdeleanor) Thursday night.  Check it out if you'd like (and if it's still around when you read this).

I have some Autumn/Halloween decorating to get started on, so here are some DIYs I hope to tackle this weekend!

1. Halloween-themed banners.

2. Vases from old bottles. 

3. Vases from pumpkins.

4. A Halloween wreath!

5. Finally, not really Halloween-related, but I finally found the perfect container for one of these!

And for this week's song of the week, how about some Tally Hall?  Man, I miss those guys.

Week-End Round-Up P7 - Things to Make This Week

So while I won't say the first week of "Things to Make This Week" Round-Up was a complete failure, I also won't say it was an amazing success.  (Un) Fortunately, life got in the way this week, so I was only able to make two of the five things I set out to.  BUT not to worry, I've got five more things I'm going to try to make this week, PLUS catch up from last week.

Here we go!

1. I'm hoping to start doing more refashions, and this is where I'm starting (here's another option, too).

2. Now that I have the perfect white T/know where to find it, it's time to spruce it up!

3. Embellishing a block heel like this has been on my list for a few years now (if the link doesn't take you straight to it, I'm talking about slide 24).

4. Wouldn't some giant fur balls look great on my new Vans?

5. And last but not least, how easy do you all think it will be to take some gold spray paint to an old pair of boots? I'll let you know.

Week-End Round-Up P6 - Things to Make This Week

We're mixing it up this week with the Week-end Round-Up!

I've been in a rut lately, creativity-wise.  I think it's mostly because my craft space is still in a bit of shambles, since I haven't spent as much time organizing as I should have.  OH well, excuses, excuses.  

Anyway, to rectify this situation, I went to my Pinterest boards to kick start my creative juices. I've decided to share 5 things on Eleanor's Boots that I hope to make during the week, and I'm hoping you all will hold me accountable.  

So here we go!

1. I bought a pink boa LAST summer to make sandals similar to the third pair included in this round-up. 

2. Speaking of upgrading sandals, I've been meaning to make these this summer ever since our recent epic Target trip. 

3.  I've been in the market for a new watch, but why buy one, when you can DIY one? 

4. As I mentioned in a previous Week-End Round-Up, I did make this, but it isn't quite right, so time to fix it!

5. Finally, since I'm still obsessed with pom-poms, Man Repeller posted these earrings back in May, and I think they are totally re-creatable.

We've been spending more time in Cleveland lately, and I'm not mad about it.

1. I've been trying to plan one of these for a while.  Who wants in?

2. I've been trying to be better about this, but there is a fine line between "balance" and not giving an eff.

3. Sadly, I'm not the master of the perfect poached egg, but this guide will help with that! 

4. Oh how I miss college.
5. Everyone's out here ready for fall, and I'm trying to soak up the last bits of summer.

1. It's insane this case has still not been solved yet.

2. We're planning to spend more time up at Lake Erie, so this guide is super helpful (although I'm not sure how relevant or necessary it is).

D-Day Conneaut 2015

Another week has come and gone; my how the time flies!

1. It's D-Day Re-Enactment weekend in Conneaut, so that's where we are.

2. I think I'm going through some kind of crisis because this article really spoke to me.
3.  Or it could be that I've just finished this book and taking it a little too much to heart. 

4. But if you can't give zero F's, maybe just fake it 'til you make it.

5. Sometimes you don't even realize you are doing something wrong until someone points it out.

1. It's gearing up to be a heavy flea weekend here in Northeast Ohio:

- The Cleveland Flea is Saturday.

- Another Akron Farm and Flea is Sunday. 

2. Another fun thing this weekend in Akron: The Hamburger Festival - I'll be there scoping out the vegetarian options.
 3. The ladies over at Man Repeller have been asking the tough questions lately. This one is no different. 

4. I think I already do this with my coffee beans.  Yay science!

Week-End Round-Up P1

It's Friday, so why not test out a new format here on Eleanor's Boots??  I've been toying with the idea of posting a weekly round-up of links I'm diggin', and this week, I actually took the initiative and pulled some together!

So....Introducing: "Week-end Round-Up"! Each week, I'll share a few fun things I've found to ease us all into the weekend!

Here we go!

1. For anyone who's local to the Akron Area, Noto is opening a second location in the Northside District and kicking it off with a party tomorrow, Saturday, 8/6. 

2. Just finished my own version of this dress.  I'll share it here soon!

3.  I had to say "Good-bye" to my favorite online shoe site this week, but at least I got a few last pairs out of the sadness.  PS: it looks like they are still clearing out inventory.

4. This guide is pretty helpful since I cut my own bangs on the regular.

5. Has anyone else started one of these?  Seems like a big commitment, but something that's right up my alley!
